Monterey, California – September 16, 2019 – Hardpoint Motorsports’ Rob Ferriol narrowly missed the podium and finished 4th in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca with team Moorespeed over the weekend.

Coming off a promising IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge debut, Ferriol and the rest of the Moorespeed crew were hopeful before their second ever race with the No. 18 Moorespeed/GridRival Audi R8 LMS GT4. Ferriol took the start of the two-hour race from 13th place and drove a successful 40-minute stint where he made it up to 8th place. Teammate Spencer Pumpelly took over the remainder of the event and was able to fight through traffic and pit strategies to finish in 4th place.

Ferriol now shifts his focus to next weekend’s IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA doubleheader, where Ferriol and Moorespeed sit second in the Gold Cup standings.

“I’m extremely satisfied with progression throughout the weekend. It’s still a new car, and it’s definitely a new and very challenging track. To go from where I was to how we performed in the race through the course of three days, I couldn’t be any happier with that. A lot of that is the Moorespeed team, for rolling the car off of the trailer in perfect condition.”
